I retrieved the Xlinux.8514 driver hoping to use it under
386BSD, but the file command does not recognize the server
program as a valid executable. Are 386BSD & Linux binaries
compatible?

Alternately, has anyone worked on getting Kevin Martin's
Linux 8514 driver compiled under 386BSD? I'm trying to
avoid instlling the entire X distribution just to try thus
out. If anyone's interested, the driver lives at:

  ftp.cs.unc.edu: /pub/martin

Thanks!
  Dave Paoletti :)
