Hello,
I am trying to run a Pentium 100 on a ASUS TP4N MB with 2x8MB EDO-RAM
SIMMs running 60ns. The specifications seem to be OK, and all parts
mentioned are new, but the system will not work with 66/100 MHz but only
with max 60/90.
The system shows up illegal op codes in the kernel or in emacs or X.
Also sometime the IRQ of the first serial port (IRQ4) does not respond.
(Also my mouse on COM2 dies from time to time). Someone once wrote that
this is seen when overclocking the system.
The error in the kernel occures when the system tries to identify the
CD-ROM (I can give more details if necessary.)
I already tried disabling external and internal caches but nothing
improves.
DOS seems to have less problems with it.
There were some similar postings in the past, maybe someone knows more
about it?
Any help will be greatly appreciated.
Regards,
	Axel.
