Why is M$ so behind??? >-- >Loren Petrich Happiness is a fast Macintosh The reason is that Microsoft believes that computing means moving a mouse, clicking on something. The Microsofties have never seen an IBM Robot Tape library loading chromium-dioxide tape cartridges and batch job after batch job grinding the data. "This can't be computing, there's no mouse, no Windows, no humans??? We're soooo confused!!!! There's no one to go anywhere today!!!" Another microsoftie lurches around, banging into the wall, making buzzing noises. "...sooo confused!" Smoke is pouring out of his ears... When Microsoft builds hardware what do you get? A mouse and keyboard! When IBM builds hardware what do you get? Robot tape libraries that hold Terabytes of data, fibre optic data connections that run at hundreds of mega bytes per second, un-interruptable, remotely maintainable, parallel, redundant, mirrored, archived, restorable, failsafe. Hardware that runs for decades. CPU's that can be maintained and upgraded while the operating system is running production work. IBM has software that runs other software. They do it with scripting languages. /* OS/2 Software Sale - Free ColorWorks CDs */ Cory Hamasaki Kiyo Design, Inc. http://www.kiyoinc.com 11 Annapolis St. OS/2 Web Store.
