Date: 29 May 1996 21:34:37 GMT Organization: RSMAS/University of Miami Lines: 30 Message-ID: <4oiftd$qkc@mitzi.rsmas.miami.edu> NNTP-Posting-Host: nauplius.rsmas.miami.edu X-Newsreader: TIN [version 1.2 PL2] I want to do some Java programming for my web pages so I installed jdk for FreeBSD and kaffe (from ports-current). I set the CLASSPATH variable to: setenv CLASSPATH.:/usr/local/share/java/classes.zip:/usr/local/share/kaffe/class es.zip but when I try to compile any Java code I get: nauplius> javac test.java No library path set. Failed to locate native function: java/io/FileDescriptor.initSystemFD(Ljava/io/FileDescriptor;I)Ljava/io/FileDescriptor; Failed to catch exception ... aborting: java/lang/UnsatisfiedLinkError the code is fine (I copied an example from a book). Without any documentation or man page I'm completely in the dark. Does anyone have any idea of what might be wrong or missing or point me to any documentation available on kaffe? Any help will be gratly appreciated.
