Most of the online documentation for freebsd is more accurate in the info base (which xemacs browses) than in the man pages. In Xemacs you can, browse the hypertext documentation either for the packages or you can browse by context your source code. Browsing the o-o envirionment to see the actual source that is being referenced makes the development of new and old software much easier. There are loadable packages that allow one to retrive files via ftp within the editor, (or read mail, or read news groups, or browse the web, or edit html scripts, or edit and debug perl, or ... see the news groups on emacs and xemacs.
