According to the FAQ it is a supported drive with 386bsd. I have installed it into the kernel and it recognizes it upon boot up. I can get it to work if I use tar and pipe it to dd like: tar cf - ./* | dd of=/dev/rwt0 I can not use cpio because it always gets out of phase. It also does not stream. I have taken all other boards out of the system and I am not sure what it should behave like. How do other people's tape drives perform and how can I get mine to work properly. Using tar directly on the file : tar cvf /dev/rwt0 ./* does not work. the tape will keep skipping to next header for each file. The cpio will print out each file name with the size of the first file. ie. all files are the same size. Sorry if I am babbling, but I did not sleep much last night and I am running on fumes..... Thanks for any help. Joel Berry -- ----------------------------------------------------------- Joel Berry | berry@enuxha.eas.asu.edu -----------------------------------------------------------
