This problem will not be fix in XS3 , but the solution is to integrate the XS3 server with XFree86. The integrated XS3 into XFree86 will be available in the near future. The interim solution is to uncompress all your installed fonts and replace in all your fonts.dir any reference to ...pcf.Z files to ...pcf files. The standard XFree86 font distribution has the following paths to fonts: (1) X386/lib/X11/fonts/75dpi (2) X386/lib/X11/fonts/misc You will find your two fonts.dir along will all ...pcf.Z fonts in the two mentioned directories.
