If you can't even ping it, it's the 3c509 not talking to the net for some reason and you should boot DOS, run the 3c509 setup diskette and disable plug-n-play mode if it's set, also verifying the settings against what's shown by the -c option to boot: -- - Jordan Hubbard President, FreeBSD Project
