The directory you are looking for is called something like /pub/FreeBSD/2.1.0-RELEASE (Sorry, I'm not online at the moment). It should have a number of directories in it, plus a few files with names like INSTALL.TXT and README.TXT, which you should read (and perhaps print out). Grab boot.flp from the floppies subdirectory and use it to make a boot disk as per the instructions. If you're going to be online when you install, all you need to do is boot with it and the install program will automatically pull down the necessary files. If you can't install online, go into the dists directory and pull down whichever distributions you require, making sure you keep the directory structure (ie put the bin files in c:\freebsd\bin, the man pages in c:\freebsd\man and so on). At the very minimum, you'll need the bin distribution and root.flp from the floppies directory. If you want to add more distributions after you've installed, you can, so you don't have to download everything to get started. >If anyone has suggestions for me please email me at: landau@yu1.yu.edu Cc'd as requested. -- James Raynard, Edinburgh, Scotland | http://freefall.freebsd.org/~jraynard/ james@jraynard.demon.co.uk | jraynard@freebsd.org
