FreeBSD 2.1 shipped with the "broken" beta resolver. If you need to ftp or telnet to any sites running this version, you have to convince them to upgrade their resolver library and to recompile any statically linked binaries...IMHO, the draft can only become a standard...or more accurately...a BCP...when the various OS's out there using the broken beta's become a couple of versions behind. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Andrew Smith ** awsmith@neosoft.com ** Network Engineer ** (713) 968-5800 ** "Opportunities multiply as they are seized" - Sun Tzu ** ** http://www.neosoft.com/neosoft/staff/andrew ** ---------------------------------------------------------------------------
