Actually it was fixed earlier than that | : (4.9.3-BETA26 or thereabouts). | | : Upgrade your software. | | : Steinar Haug, Nethelp consulting, sthaug@nethelp.no | | I think that the root of the problem is that if you are trying to use | IP's who's in-addr's are served via the draft method, it isn't up to | "your" software to make it work...it's up to everyone you connect to. | FreeBSD 2.1 shipped with the "broken" beta resolver. This is a resolver problem. If *you* get the messages | >May 31 23:51:24 server in.telnetd[16858]: gethostby*.getanswer: | >asked for "4.4.176.203.in-addr.arpa", got "4.0.4.176.203.in-addr.arpa" that means *your* resolver is broken. You need to upgrade your resolver. The official home of BIND is ftp://ftp.vix.com/pub/bind/release/4.9.3/bind-4.9.3-REL.tar.gz Archie is your friend - you can probably find lots of mirrors closer. Also remember to pick up Patch1 (in the same directory at ftp.vix.com). Steinar Haug, Nethelp consulting, sthaug@nethelp.no
