Actually, there is nothing wrong with using the P or NOT using the P, is
nothing more than a way to differentiate on how a user connects to the server.
Personally, we don't use it, and prefer not to use it, because we provide
shell and PPP connections for all users. It is easier for a user to remember
ONE login than 2, even if it is a simple P infront of their login. The P
itself provides nothing in the way of security, provides nothing in the way a
user can connect, and does nothing to enhance how the system operates other
than a simple means to detect how the user is connected, but then again, a
simple w will show they are connected via PPP, so that still doesn't add that
much.

I saw nothing bitchy about the original post, the person was asking valid
questions as a newbie, nothing wrong with that, but I do see a bitchy attitude
in YOUR response as if you expect everyone to be at YOUR level immediately,
but then again, from your responses I have seen so far, you have been wrong on
SEVERAL occasions, so I guess you might need a little teaching too. So
LIGHTEN up, smell the roses, take a relaxing look at life, it helps a lot.
