Hello everyone,

I first want to thank everyone who contacted me about linux on the 68k...
I'm not sure if it was this group or another, but thanks anyways.

Secondly, the main reason for this post, is that I am learning tons about
BSD right now, and am pretty much a stupid fool when it comes to netBSD at
the moment. I have a couple questions that I would love to have your
comments and suggestions on.

I have the following system configuration:

Performa636CD
which has:

250 Meg internal IDE drive (only 5 megs free right now... but I can fix that)
External SCSI Zip removable media drive
20 Meg RAM
Valkyre?? Video Card
SCSI Sony Internal CDRom
68LC040 Motorola Processor

I am currently running MacOS 7.5.3.

I am interested in the ability to choose operating systems at boot time
(MacOS/NetBSD) [in other words, I don't want to give up my MacOS yet].

My questions are as follows:

Can I run X11R6 with the current version of NetBSD? I have been told I
need ADB ontop of my machine... will that run X windows (which I suppose
is the same as X11R6 right?). Does the current version of ADB support
Color X Windows? Or is it limited to like 1bit?

Is there an IDE version being worked on at the moment?

Also, I would love to hear of any of the current work on NetBSD which may
concern my ability to run X windows or motif or something like this on my
machine.

Any suggestions/comments/concerns are always welcome!!

Thank you very much for reading and reply to this message.

Please reply via e-mail so that I can be sure to receive your comments!

Thanks again,

Allen Hall
