Think about it for a minute. You can't keep your old DOS partition if you 
want to specify *all* of the drive for FreeBSD. On the other side, you 
can't specify *all* of the drive for FreeBSD if you want to keep the DOS 
partition. Also, once you specify *all* of the drive for FreeBSD, you no 
longer have a DOS partition to load the distribution from.

Instead, set up the DOS partition as you want it, with the distribution 
you want. Then, when you start the boot floppy and Novice install, select 
(C)reate new FBSD partition. Install will try to assign all *unassigned* 
space to your FreeBSD partition. Hit Enter to accept this and then go on 
from there.
