Here is the hardware list: Intel Zappa/ZP motherboard (Triton Chipset), P-90 processor BusLogic BT-946C SCSI host adapter IBM DPES 1.08 Gb SCSI-II hard drive Fujitsu M1606 1.06 Gb SCSI-II hard drive Teac CD-50 SCSI-II CD-ROM Drive 3COM 3C509B Ethernet Network Interface Card 32 Mb RAM I have attempted the installation from floppy disk, CD-ROM (Walnut Creek, Jan 96), and DOS partition. No matter which method I attempt it always hangs at the probe of the CD-ROM drive by the BusLogic HA. The probe finds the 2 hard drives fine, but trys for several minutes to probe the CD-ROM and then aborts. I have tried every possible combination of options in the BusLogic setup. I have placed the CD-ROM on every SCSI ID except 0 and 7. Nothing works. This system works with DOS 6.22, Windows 3.1, Windows 95, Windows NT Workstation 3.51, Windows NT Server 3.51, Linux (various versions) UnixWare 2.01, and even Solaris for x86 2.5. It even worked months back with FreeBSD 2.0. I am at a loss of where to proceed. Replacing hardware is NOT an option. All hardware in the machine is nominally supported according to the various FreeBSD docs. What am I missing? - rick warner - BTW - the BusLogic adapter is at the default settings.
