There are a large number of interface cards available which differ in some subtle ways. Among the cards I know of are Everex, Wangtek, Colorado Memory Systems (CMS), Core, and Tecmar. I don't know which card 386BSD was developed for. There may be some dif- ference between that card and yours. You should also make sure you don't have an interrupt or DMA conflict between the tape controller and any other device. Also, the common I/O ports for the card are 300H or 338H, which may conflict with an Adaptec 1542.
