I use them, and they work fine for me. I quit using pppconfig, because I have
it setup in /etc/ppp.sys as follows
Dialin:\
:id#1200:\
:di:\
:li=/etc/netscripts/Dialin.login:\
:lu=/etc/netscripts/Dialin.up:\
:ld=/etc/netscripts/Dialin.down:
This gives a 20 minute idle timer (1200 seconds / 60) and drops the user. I
haven't had any problems with it since I set it up, and have tested it to make
sure it works by idling out my system while connected. I get disconnected
almost exactly on the 20 minute mark every time.
