  That's strange - I have a large number of BSD/OS systems, all with BusLogic
controllers (445C, 946C, 958D) and have never seen this problem (the "oper-
ation time exceeds" message) except when a disk drive failed. And I'm doing
a great deal of disk I/O - 3 of the systems are major news servers.

  I'd suggest you check your SCSI cables, termination, etc.
