That's strange - I have a large number of BSD/OS systems, all with BusLogic controllers (445C, 946C, 958D) and have never seen this problem (the "oper- ation time exceeds" message) except when a disk drive failed. And I'm doing a great deal of disk I/O - 3 of the systems are major news servers. I'd suggest you check your SCSI cables, termination, etc. Terry Kennedy Operations Manager, Academic Computing terry@spcvxa.spc.edu St. Peter's College, Jersey City, NJ USA +1 201 915 9381 (voice) +1 201 435-3662 (FAX)
