I realize this subject has been discussed quite a bit this past year or
so. I work for an ISP that is having problems with customers who have
Windows 95, using the Dial-Up Networking, and have PPP accounts.

Problem: Everytime the client logs on one of two things happen.
1> the customer is dropped within a few minutes (about 3 min)
               after logging on.
2> after the customer has been online for about 20-30 minutes
(or so) doing mIRC or browsing the web using Netscape 2.xx,
they then try to get their email using Pegasus or Eudora and
receive an error message "Unable to locate host". But there
person is still online and connected to our servers.
The customer has to disconnect and then reconnect. They do
not get the "Reconnect?" window that usually pops up when
the modem connection is dropped.

The customers are manually logging in. Our
modems are set to drop people after 20minutes of idle time.
I have made sure that the clients were not idling.

I have read that there is a conflict between the Windows95 PPP and BSDi.
We are using BSDi 2.0 as a terminal server. We have applied all the
patches mentioned, which include k200-011, k200-019, u200-003. They have
been uneffective.

I have also seen the patches for Windows95 users, but unfortunately have
been unable to find the patches on the windos95.com site. These patches
include setup.exe, oleupd.exe, and krnlupd.exe.

The questions I have:

* does anyone have any other suggestions?
* does anyone know where the windows95 patches could be found?

Thank you for you help,
