I did this, and the system is back to what it should be. It should work for now. But, in six months, I'll probably have figured out how to make the kernel with fixes for the PDT problem I've had since epoch. :) :) :) >It took us a while to figure this one out :). Hmm. My computer didn't vote for that. :) It still isn't finalized, as far as I know. It's kind of a dumb idea, true, and until it's finalized, I suggest not wasting space in bindist with it. It would only affect a few people (namely, those living in PST timezone, and only then on the day of the Presidential elections, every four years (perhaps they'll do it every year, though). Affected people could either ftp the new stuff if they need it, or login as root and set the date. I got confused early on with all those /usr/share/zoneinfo/* files; I suspect others would be confused as well. >The timezone file doesn't seem to do what is wanted, though; it should be >PST until the first tuesday after the first monday in november, at which >point it should be PPET (Pacific Presidential Election Time), until that day >is over, when it should go back to PST. (You can still vote, by sending an email message to a 1-900 number, $3.95 for the first minute.) :) >The source to the timezone files are in /usr/othersrc/share/zoneinfo/datf iles; >pacificnew is the bogus one, and northamerica is the one that has the >correct information.
