I was wondering How does FreeBSD compare to other Unix's? You'll find it interesting comparing Linux and FreeBSD. There will probably be some things you prefer about FreeBSD and some things where you prefer the way Linux does things. As I don't know you, I can't tell which ones those will be - you'll have to find out for yourself 8-) >How is the install routiene? Very well, thank you 8-) If you've made the cultural adjustment to having a Unix on your PC, you shouldn't find anything in the FreeBSD install difficult to understand. >Is Walnut Creek the only source for FreeBSD >CD-ROM's? Thanks in advance for any assistance. You can buy them from a number of outlets, not just direct from Walnut Creek; Infomagic also produce CD's with FreeBSD on. Unlike Linux, there's only one distribution of FreeBSD (which is prepared by the FreeBSD developers BTW), so the Infomagic one will probably be very similar (haven't actually seen one myself, at least not since version 1.0.2 of FreeBSD 8-). -- James Raynard, Edinburgh, Scotland james@jraynard.demon.co.uk jraynard@FreeBSD.ORG
