There's one other reason; if you later need to add a workstation, it's a lot safer with 10b2 if you shut off every machine on the network. It's possible to engineer things so that you switch the cabling quickly enough not to cause a problem, but it's not recommended. Small hubs have gotten so cheap, we don't use coax for anything except cascading hubs any more, and don't recommend it when we have the luxury of using 10bT.
