If your original 8MB of RAM was on a single 72-pin SIMM card, it may not be mixing happily with a 16 MB SIMM. The problem is that the 8MB SIMM actually requires an odd number of address lines, so it is handled as two banks of 4 MB each. On most motherboards, this can only be extended by another 8 MB SIMM card, or not at all. I've seen a wide range of motherboards, and they have no problem mixing 1/4/16 MB memories, but 8 MB is an oddball and doesn't fit. I haven't tried, but I wouldn't wonder if 32 MB had the same problem for similar reasons. In any case, you might try running with just 16 MB and see what that does. If it works, leave the 8 MB card out, and possibly go with another 16 if you need the RAM. I hope this helps! Ken
