Uh, I thought this was technical newsgroup "kidding" as in
to deceive or fool in a playful way or to tease or ridicule playfully
seems more appropiate to children's newsgroup.

As to the original question, this is how I would answer it:

Yes, the et4000 is supported by XFree86  and you can find 
out more about the specifics of it or the peculiarities
for a given supported graphic card whether is due to the OS 
or to the hardware by browsing :
http://www.xfree86.org

I know that the above is difficult for "aks" to remember so
pretty please save this posting and put it up somewhere in
your forehead in the hope that my words of wisdom would somehow
sink into your brain .
