Are they being detected? I finally got it working! Rebuilt my kernel, remade the wcd0 device, and it's working beautifully now! I can hardly believe it! What *was* happening was that, under the GENERIC kernel, the wdc1 was not being detected. Under the IDE kernel, it would be detected, but would hang after all the probes were done. I *think* now, in retrospect, I should have just tried a MAKEDEV wcd0 (the device was not showing up at all during the boot process, even though it "existed" in my /dev directory. After rebuilding the kernel, I still had to do this before I could mount the drive. >We can't help you if you don't tell us what's wrong... My apologies to anyone who I may have offended earlier. I was pretty disgusted at the time, and ready to just call it quits with the whole thing. But the indomitable hacker spirit in me refused to admit deafeat! :-) I should have just done the kernel rebuild in the first place, but being new to FreeBSD, I was hoping to avoid such an extreme solution. Turned out to have been much easier than all the other stuff I was doing! Could have spared myself a lot of frustration if I'd done it sooner. :-) This is cool! I'm excited! :-) Now I just have to figure out how to connect to my ISP with PPP. :-) -- Conrad Sabatier -- http://www.neosoft.com/~conrads/
