(i never do just a kernel, and i make worlds about every two-four months coz i dont have time) how about making all the binaries (/usr/local/bin) again, how often would be "wise"? now, that would take a while on a server that has lots of ports compiled... gladly there _is_ /usr/ports, coz that saves lots of valuable time... *smile* oh, last one, my linux friend thinks i'm strange coz i compile my system and am not using ready binaries... could someone with lots of tech knowledge tell me the actual advantage from compiling instead of using precompiled set of binaries... (no, i'm not about to give up on 'make world') =) mickey
