stupidish question... when i started to use freebsd i was quite on my own,
and some ways i'm still doing things are probably quite strange... well,
it was version 1.0 and all...

what would be the proper way to upgrade a system, when i am making some
major changes, i always first compile a kernel, then i make world, and then
i make the kernel again...

now that i run fast system it makes quite a little difference if i make
a kernel or not, coz it lasts about 10 minutes...

also how often one should make world on current? should one change kernel
more often that that? (i never do just a kernel, and i make worlds about
every two-four months coz i dont have time)

how about making all the binaries (/usr/local/bin) again, how often would
be "wise"? now, that would take a while on a server that has lots of ports
compiled... gladly there _is_ /usr/ports, coz that saves lots of valuable
time...

*smile*

oh, last one, my linux friend thinks i'm strange coz i compile my system
and am not using ready binaries... could someone with lots of tech knowledge
tell me the actual advantage from compiling instead of using precompiled
set of binaries... (no, i'm not about to give up on 'make world')

=)
