Yep, historically we haven't adequately supported the unfortunately common but generally lower quality IDE CDROM's. You are very welcome to help work on the driver (which I hear has been significantly improved already.) Of course, I don't generally have the kinds of problems that some people have, because I check out hardware compatibility. It is even a problem (hardware compatibility) with NT. Even though I am not involved with NT development (thank goodness), I do check those things out, and haven't gotten caught "with my pants down", yet. John
