Ah, well that's your problem ! You need an AT, not a PC - one with at least a 386 CPU. Everyone would assume that you have enough knowledge and common sense to figure this out before posting. You obviosly don't appreciate the need to know more than "I have a PC", so I'll explain: We all expect to get at least the boot prompt to begin with. You're the first person (to my knowledge) to moan that this is a problem. So, something is wrong - or different - with your machine. If you can't define what your machine is nobody can help you. This is how you find out: Ring up the person that you bought your machine from and say "excuse me, I need you to describe to me - in detail - what hardware is in my "PC". Could you write it down and post it to me as I don't want to misunderstand the terminology" When you receive the letter, copy it word for word into your news reader and post it as a follow up to this thread. Don't try to interpret what they say - it'll only confuse you. You will probably need to use MS-Windows to do so - the interface should suit you. If you have any problems with these instructions, please ask me to clarify them. If you figure out that you're just being stupid^H^H^H^H^H^Hnaieve, don't bother posting. Otherwise, we look forward to hearing about your hardware. -- Brian <brian@awfulhak.demon.co.uk> Don't _EVER_ lose your sense of humour....
