Go ahead and configure your chosen machine as a gateway. Pull down the qpop package from the packages distribution and add it using pkg_add. Also uncomment the #pop3 line at the bottom of /etc/inetd.conf so it'll run. Eudora will run fine from Windows 3.x, WFW, or Win95 over a TCP/IP network to this machine. Since I alternate between Windows and FreeBSD on my subnet, I either use Eudora or pine according to what I am doing. The one question is: are you planning a full-time ppp connection to an ISP? I would recommend that since you want the POP server accessible at all times for incoming mail. My subnet does exactly this, using pppd to run the connection to my ISP. So far, it's working fine. I hope this helps! Ken
