It's not that much of work, you can try to search through FreeBSD's GNATS database if you want, there's a submission for getting it to work. I don't remember exactly, but it was at most a couple of 100 lines of code. We didn't accept that code yet, but are likely to merge it into the regular getty as an option some day.
