Boot from the FBSD boot floppy, and use the -c option just to disable 
peripherals you don't have so as to avoid confusion. Select the Novice 
install, and specify wd0 as the destination drive. Without changing any of the 
partition parameters, select the "write configuration now" option. Accept the 
Boot Mgr option and wait for the next screen.

Now remove the boot floppy and reboot. Boot Manager should be working.
