Pretty reasonable expectation. You should, as did I for years. Is your "PC" a 386 or higher? (Neither 286 nor XT will suffice :) Do you have booting from floppy enabled in the BIOS? Did you fetch the boot floppy image with "binary" FTP mode? Are you _really_ sure that you created boot floppy in the correct way?
