Yes, with a boot manager.

I have mine setup similarly.  The master IDE drive holds DOS, the
slave IDE drive holds FreeBSD.  I have the boot manager installed on
both, but I guess it's really only required for the master IDE drive.

The install procedure will ask you whether or not you want to install
the boot manager.  Just say yes.
