I don't know the technicalities of Demon's WWW cache, but my own experience is that this works only very rarely. Applying a little non-technical logic, I wonder if you found this worked simply because in the interim (while you were "buggering off") someone else successfully downloaded the file you were after, thus leaving it sitting pretty in the cache? -- Paul Terry (Email: paul@musonix.demon.co.uk)
