Hi, we have a computer here running FreeBSD 2.1 (stable, I think) and we
are getting a strange error message from the scsi hard drive. The
message reads:
init: getty repeating too quickly on port /dev/ttyv3
sleeping 30 seconds
and then messages like "last message repeated 4 times" or "...20 times"
and it sounds like the hard drive is accessed every 30 seconds (all
day long). Anybody have any idea what might be up?
The hardware is:
A pentium machine w/ 48M extended ram, A 1G conner SCSI hard drive
(with a windows/dos partition), A Plextor PX43CS SCSI cdrom drive
using the Adaptec AHA 2940 SCSI controller. The machine also has
a SoundBlaster 16 sound card and an Intel EtherExpress 16 if that
matters. Thanks for any help in advance.
