[Me:] > As for the history of the split between NetBSD and OpenBSD, not > everyone who's read Theo's mail archive has come to the same > conclusion that he has. [Theo:] > Did they read the version modified by someone who cracked my > machine, or the un-hacked version? I'm referring to comments made very shortly after you initially announced your coremail archive. Nobody I know seems to have saved a copy. Since there's no way to verify your story about your mail archive being modified, it's hard to tell. I'll skim what you currently have posted and see if there's anything obviously different. [Jason Thorpe:] >> [ BTW, the message bounced because he used the word "prick". I'm going >> to let it though, anyhow, however. Otherwise, as has been the case >> in the past, I'll just be accused of being an Asshole NetBSD Core Censor. >> *sigh* ] [Theo:] > My original message did bounce, but Jason let it through. Then he > also let through John's message which flamed me. So, John's message > DID trigger the moderation filter, and they DID let it bthrough. There's some understandable confusion going on here. Jason changed his mind, and didn't approve any of those posts; they didn't go to the list. (He decided they didn't fit the charter of the group.) The word "prick" hasn't appeared on port-i386 this month. I was confused also; Charles thought Goerzen's message went to the list without hitting the moderation filter, but in reality Goerzen's message never hit port-i386 at all. The following is according to Jason, who would know: Messages that did make it to port-i386: Theo's "I fixed 20 security bugs in OpenBSD" Messages that were bounced and never went to port-i386: Jason Thorpe's "care to share your findings?" Theo's refusal Goerzen's flame of Theo Theo's reply to Goerzen
