Embarassing but true, I changed the operator, and both root passwords and have lost the yellow post-it note that I wrote the passwords on. After a number of attempts to use Control-C to force system into Single-usr mode, I can see the password and shadow files, but I cannot get at /usr/bin, etc. directories to run either an editor or passwd to get at it and am woefully inept with sh. Help via e-mail?
