As far as I know, there aren't any hang problems in the SCSI driver set (I can say for sure about the 2.0.1 bha driver that there aren't, and I'm relatively certain about the aha driver as well - I have no experience with the ncr, sa (152x) and aic drivers). In general, if you get a SCSI lockup you've got either bad cables/termi- nation, a bad drive/microcode, or bad firmware in the host adapter, listed in order of decreasing probability. Try disabling fast mode and/or sync negotiation and see if that helps. If it does, go get better cables and an active terminator and try again. There are SCSI bus analyzers (big $) and SCSI terminators with more than the usual number of LED's on them. Either of these will help you trouble- shoot a locked up SCSI bus, as long as you have it in place before the prob- lem happens.
