germany isn't *that* bad. we offer Frame Relay (mostly for
Internet Access) in all major german cities and ~100
cities EU-wide. PVCs to the US etc are no problem.

but you still need a so-called 'local loop', meaning a line
from your premises to the Frame Relay POP, from the
Telekom AG in most german cities, but not in all.

that may be ISDN which is nice because the hardware
is relatively cheap, but may also maybe a leased line
or whatever.

unfortunately the Telekom AG has installation fees
for their circuits which scare the customers away.
getting a 2Mbps including CSU/DSUs and ciscos up and running
adds up to a DM20K+ price tag.

so much for the datenautobahn.
