I wrote an 18k document on getting started (*after* installation) for people new to both FreeBSD and Unix. It covers logging in and out, getting around, getting help, creating new users, simple vi editing, etc. The freebsd-doc project may do something with it, but meanwhile I'll be glad to e-mail a copy to anyone, or it's available at http://andrsn.stanford.edu/data/FreeBSD/ > > : I hate to say it, but I see plenty of people out there > : complaining that they can not install the software. What you need to configure depends on what you want to do. The FreeBSD handbook has sections covering many topics, e.g., printing, ppp & slip, and so forth. Configuring something like a web server is covered by documentation that comes with the program. Annelise
