Not necessarily. I usually make a small root FreeBSD partition (~20MB) below the "magic barrier" and put the rest of FreeBSD on another partition, which can go anywhere on the disk and be of any size. >Now my computer is running Windows NT 3.51 and I'm gonna keep on using >Windows NT. However, you can have them on the same system and use one of them at a time, but you'll have to reboot every time you want to use the other one. The FreeBSD installation program has the option to install a boot manager, which will enable you to choose which one to run each time the system boots. >I was told that FreeBSD and Windows NT can't co-exist on one system >because they use MACH kernel. Is that right? No. Neither of them use a Mach kernel, and they can co-exist on one system. -- James Raynard, Edinburgh, Scotland james@jraynard.demon.co.uk
