Startx causes reboot! Date: 1 Jul 1996 13:18:21 GMT Organization: Zeh Graphic Systems Lines: 19 Message-ID: <4r8j6u$pdk@zgs.com> NNTP-Posting-Host: beauty.zgs.com X-Newsreader: TIN [version 1.2 PL2] I am trying to set up X on my FreeBSD system. I downloaded all the XFree86 files that I needed and installed them. Then I ran xf86config and filled in the same values that got X going on Linux last year. However, in the section that asks about the video card, it says it can't read the card database. It just skips past this part and seems to not mind. However, when I type startx, the system reboots. I sent sterr from startx to a file, but could not see anything strange. Can anyone help me? If the card dbase is the problem, which file contains the needed info? Any help would be appreciated.
