I'm trying to hook up a VT100 terminal to /dev/ttyd2
(FreeBSD-2.1.0-R). Up until yesterday my wife's computer was hooked
into that port as a dumb terminal, but she has moved her computer
elsewhere and I thought it'd be keen to get my VT100 working again,
but when I turn on the VT100 I get:
login:
login:
login:
login:
login:
and I'm not even hitting the return key! I think I solved this
problem once before (either using Coherent on a 286 or with
NetBSD-0.9), but I can't for the life of me figure out what I did.
My line in /etc/ttys is:
ttyd2 "/usr/libexec/getty std.4800" vt100 on secure
The only difference is I used std.9600 for my wife's machine. I
originally had that for my VT100 too, but the beast used to lose
characters at that speed.
I just can't figure out where to go from here. Any help is much
appreciated! Or a pointer to the relavant FAQ--the FAQ that came with
the system doesn't seem to deal with this particular problem.
