The : nohup prevents the login being dropped when you exit. Only on broken unix implementations :-) I believe that demon use either NetBSD or SunOS/Solaris, so *if* they did allow a shell account, *and* they allowed access to lynx, we wouldn't have to type that nasty first word.....
