But I doubt you'll be able to "chmod" if you can't create directories etc. There is a "root" account. It's the same as "God mode" where you can do (almost) anything. You need to either use the "mtools" package or "mount" the disk. : 3. Is there an online guide for the stupid? You're not necessarily stupid - just ignorant about unix. Persevere.
