Hello there,

I've been trying to install and setup freeBSD (and I even bought the
CD with the manual), however it seems far to difficult for the average
DOS user to setup.

I am therefore asking for input from the experts.

I have just completed installing the basic system from floppies b/c I
can not yet get my CDROM to work.

Forgetting about the CDROM for a moment. It seems that the first
nesecity is to configure the machine so that there is a valid local
host and then setup (or disable) sendmail so that you don't get an
error message every morning you come in.

Can enyone out there (be specific) tell me exactly which files I will
have to edit and maybe give some examples as to what the possible
entries might look like.

My point in doing all of this is to go through the setup step by step
and record everything I do so that people who ask questions here
can get some real answers. (not ones like "use the atapi.flp to
configure the CDROM" <- advice is good, but instructions are better)

Thank you for your time

I hope there is someone out there who is interested in helping.

Thanks
Ken
