If you get Tyan to answer e-mail, I'd be interested.
Anyway, you should have no problems with mixing RAM types in different banks.
I do this with my Tyan Tomcat II :
- 2 16 MB 60 ns Fast Page SIMMs in bank 0
- 2 32 MB 60 ns EDO  SIMMs in bank 1

Works fine.
