If the user is talking about speed, as the heading states, my understanding of the manufacturing process is that memory chips are made the same. After completion, they are tested and those that test at 60ns, go into the 60ns basket, the 70's in theirs, and so on. After installation, if the speeds are mixed, then the speed will be determined by the slower chips(s). But, to be honest, I really can't say for sure.
