I just recently acquired a 3c507 (3Com EltherLink/16) and since the 3c503/16 (3Com EtherLink II/16) I am using now is a loaner, I would like to find a way to run the 507 with 386BSD... Any ideas, pointers to drivers, pointers to what needs to be done to the 503 driver to get it to work w/the 507, etc. would be appreciated... A friend of mine just got an UltraStor 12F ESDI controller and is thinking of running 386BSD on it... Any comments, experiences, or outright complaints?? Has anyone used this controller succesfully? From what I understand, only SCSI-based tape drives will work with 386BSD, right?? Any ideas about other solutions/drivers out there? For instance, what about running tape drives off the floppy controller, if it supports them [some controllers let you hook up up to 4 devices]. And what about the tape drives that have their own controllers?? Thanks for your $0.02...
