I use the following set of commands and get the following output: # wormcontrol select HP 4020i # wormcontrol prepdisk double dummy # wormcontrol track data # rtprio 5 team -v 1m 5 < IMAGE | dd of=/dev/rworm0 obs=20k 1093 kilobytes, 0 seconds [ The green light on the 4020i blinks for a few seconds ] [ The red (write) light blinks for a few seconds ] 1093 kbytes written [Carriage Return] dd: /dev/rworm0: Input/output error 2186+1 records in 54+0 records out 1105920 bytes transferred in 4 secs (276480 bytes/sec) # wormcontrol fixate 1 # I'm worried about the error from 'dd'. Is this caused by the 'dummy' command or is something else going wrong? I also noticed that if I configure the kernel for the worm0 device, the cd0c device is no longer configured. Thus: kernel without worm0 device : cd0c (4020i) available for mounting CD9660 disks kernel with worm0 device : worm0 (4020i) available for writing cd0c (4020i) NOT available (device not configured) Is there a way in FreeBSD to have both the worm0 AND cd0 device configured simultaneously? My hardware is: ----------------------------------------------------------------- System : Pentium 166MHz 32 Mb RAM Adaptec 2940 SCSI controller CD-R HP4020i on SCSI target 2 1 Gb HDisk on SCSI target 0 SCSI : Adaptec 2940 Configuration for 4020i Initiate Sync Negotiation : no Maximum Sync Transfer Rate : 5.0 Mbyte/s Enable Disconnection : no Kernel configs : options "SCSI_DELAY=10" device worm0 at scbus0 target 2 ----------------------------------------------------------------- Thanks for your time, (If possible reply by e-mail: franky@pinewood.nl) -Frank ten Wolde -- ---------------------------------------------------------------------- F.W. ten Wolde (PA3FMT) Pinewood Automation B.V.
